I teach a range of courses from theatre history/literature and theory classes to practical-based classes such as drama-based pedagogy and devised performance.
I encourage students to explore artists, genres, and movements from around the world, and continually consider how I can decolonize and globalize my syllabi. It is important to note that I am an EDIA-centered educator (now working within Texas's SB 17 law). My training and professional work all feed my engagement to make sustained institutional change through proactive behavior.
I have extensive experience teaching Theatre for Social Change/Community Engagement. Outreach includes drama-based pedagogy in public school classrooms, youth touring theatre, and devised social issue pieces for college campus and professional communities.
As a member of the SHSU Honors College Advisory Board, I work on multiple levels of interdisciplinary teaching and scholarship, including teaching in the Fine Arts, The Word, MeToo, and Culture in Disney World seminars.
