Vicky holds a PhD in Theatre and Drama from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and is an Associate Professor of Theatre / Associate Chair of the Department of Theatre and Musical Theatre at Sam Houston State University. Vicky has taught theatre history/theory/literature, dramaturgy, physical and devised performance, educational theatre, cultural theory, and directed productions at UW-Madison, Gettysburg College, Franklin and Marshall College, and Sam Houston State University.

 

Her research explores representations of culture in performances in and around tourist locations and she has multiple publications on Disney parks and culture. She is a freelance dramaturg. She is the immediate past Focus Group Rep for the Theatre History Focus Group at ATHE, was co-chair of Representation, Equity, and Diversity for KCACTF Region 6 from 2019-2023, and currently a SHSU Administrative Faculty Fellow.
